Q&A

Do the Houses for Olim keep kosher?

No, our houses do not meet the formal requirements of a kosher home or kosher kitchen. We have shared kitchen and dining areas for Olim. However, we recognize that observing kashrut is an important part of life for many Olim, and we want to be as accommodating as possible.

If you are considering staying with us, we encourage you to contact us in advance. We will be happy to provide detailed information about the house, kitchen, and available facilities so that you can determine whether the accommodation is suitable for your needs and take any measures necessary to maintain your personal kosher standards during your stay.

Can we bring a pet?

Unfortunately, the Ashdod House is currently unable to accept pets. We have cats that visit our properties, if you are looking for a furry companion.

Do you have baby beds/highchairs?

Yes! Ashdod House has baby beds/cots and highchairs. You and your little ones are very welcome to stay.

Is there a specific check-in time?

We do offer a 24/7 check-in service. Please let us know beforehand when you plan on arriving at Ben Gurion Airport. Should you arrive during the night hours, please do call the given phone number instead of ringing the bell. The house staff is happy to welcome you. (Note: If you do not have a working phone, ask the taxi driver to call, or give us an ETA before you leave the airport.)

Do you have a room for handicapped people?

Yes we have one room on the ground floor in Ashdod, that is easily accessible with an adjacent bathroom. Please note that the bomb shelter is not accessible by wheelchair.

Do you have bomb shelters?

Yes. We have a bomb shelter, and a member of staff will ensure you know the location and what to do during the event of a siren. It is an opportunity to get to know staff and other olim.

Do you provide meals?

We do not provide meals. However, we are happy to point out the nearest shops (both houses have food shops within walking distance), and please feel free to use our fully equipped shared kitchens! Join us for our regular tea times—we’d love to welcome you for tea and cake!

Method of Payment?

Currently we can receive cash (NIS) only. There are change booths and ATMs in close vicinity of both houses. A receipt will be provided.

How many fit in a room?

The Ashdod House has twin or single rooms, with one room of 3 (including a single bed and a bunk bed). We do not have family rooms.

Can I leave my children unattended?

No, children must be supervised at all times.
